History of the Hotel
Park Hotel Kenmare has been welcoming guests from around the world since 1897. Initially constructed as a railway hotel, Park Hotel Kenmare was designed as a place to stay whilst travelling in the southwest of Ireland. Throughout the centuries, this iconic 5 star hotel has retained the charm, year-round wood burning fireplace, eccentricity, and elegance it was built with, while integrating modern comforts and amenities.
Today, Park Hotel Kenmare is proudly run by Bryan and Tara Meehan, who believe that owning a hotel is more than running a business–it's the chance to build community, celebrate Irish culture, and showcase a new type of hospitality.
Under their guidance, the sun streaming through the stained-glass windows shines a new light on the Park Hotel Kenmare, which is transforming into a place that invites guests into a place of comfort, connection, and storytelling, while honouring the rich history of the Kerry land we rest upon.
